Enterprise classes for children

Enterprise classes introduce children to economics and saving. They are aimed at children aged 6–10 and run as play, in a friendly atmosphere.

The aim is broad economic education — becoming aware of how advertising works, building the habit of handling money sensibly, and learning to plan and weigh up purchases.

Sample topics:

  • What is money? A history of money
  • Designing your own currency
  • Saving money — and what else can we save?
  • What is a shop? Types of shops; why we buy and sell
  • How to spot counterfeit money
  • What is a bank? What is a cash card?
  • What is advertising? Where do we meet it?
  • Communication — our words and our gestures
  • Jobs — what would you like to be?
  • Who is an entrepreneur, and what are they like?

Classes run in small groups, led by someone experienced in working with children, once or twice a week for 45 minutes.
